This spot is a pure kitesurfing paradise. Over the years, Velika Plaza has become one of the most famous and secure places for learning to kitesurf. Counting 12 km from Port Milena to a delta of river Bojana, it’s one of the longest and widest beaches in Europe. The water is usually warm therefor wetsuits are not really needed. Due to a perfect on-shore direction of the wind, beginners don’t have to worry about getting pushed to the open sea and with our rescue boat, we make it absolutely safe for you to enjoy your kitesurfing days. On the delta of river Bojana, which is on 800m from our kite center, the water is flat and really attractive for pro’s to practice tricks, the rest of the cost has choppy water (small waves), fun for jumping and playing around.
The wind season starts from the beginning of May until the end of September. A thermal side-on-shore wind blows almost every day at wind speeds of 15 to 20 knots. Due to its thermal nature, it forms at about 13 pm and it blows till 19 pm. On no-wind days the sea is mirror flat which makes it just perfect for standup paddling but if you’re ready for some adrenaline we have a jet boat so get ready for some wakeboarding fun.
